The management of a company is the essence of a profitable business. Management is recognizing the special talent each employee possesses and capitalizing it. Empowering employees has a direct correlation to the success and longevity of a company. Throughout the years, various trends in conducting a business have emerged, causing differences within the industry workforce and ROI.

Management is not vital to just companies but organizations across the board, within classroom group projects, and personal goals. Having good leadership skills is essential in all aspects of life.
Efficiency and effectiveness are skills a good manager should learn to master. These skills save time, money, and help accomplish tasks that satisfy organizational objectives. The best management of top companies includes obtaining a competitive advantage through people. A company will succumb without the dynamic of good employees. Increased employee satisfaction creates a positive workplace culture. This detail is what separates top companies from their competitors.
A perfect illustration of this concept is brought forth by B. Scheneider and D.E. Bowen, Employee and Customer Perceptions of Service in Banks, where they explain managers impact client fulfillment through representative fulfillment. When workers are satisfied by their occupation they perform better therefore the consumer experience is enhanced. Cisco Systems, Inc is the top ranking company on Fortune’s 100 best companies to work for 2021. The article attributed their success to various reasons; one being “Cisco delayed already announced layoffs and extended pay and benefits for affected workers...placing a focus on employee well-being” (Fortune). Cisco did the unthinkable during a pandemic and placed emphasis on their employees well being.
Making sure employees, group members, and protégée are content in the work environment and attaining benefits is important. This gives the organization a comparative advantage. It makes everyone more excited and willing to put in the effort and go the extra mile to get the task at hand accomplished. When employees feel valued, heard, and seen, they perform better and begin to build loyalty towards a set organization or company.

The CEO of Group Harmonics, Edward G. Muzio, conducted a guide for emerging managers to be successful. The six steps are as follows: defining your job clearly, defining your groups' output, seeking momentary clarity rather than permanent answers, becoming an expert in defining and communicating expectations, keeping track of the outputs, and being consistent. In brevity knowing the ins and outs of the task at hand, communicating effectively, and committing can change the course of the company. These practices can be incorporated into your personal life; whether it's leading a team project or navigating an uncomfortable situation with a peer.
Applying these six practices in your personal and professional life can be transformational. Your daily life will have clear direction and your communication skills will flourish. This may lead to less confusion and possible confrontations with your peers. A better relationship with yourself and those surrounding you is an added benefit of adopting these practices. Your time management will progress because you have defined your tasks clearly. This change can provide additional time to focus on other important areas of your life. Having good leadership skills can enhance your viability.
